Pink Out Week 2016

The week of February 8th to February 12th is dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness.  Organized by Ms. Thompson, Ms. Marsland and the seniors who chose the Gloria Gemma Foundation as their senior project, this week is filled with several events and reminders to bring awareness upon this disease.  This year, fifteen seniors have helped to organize the events and going-ons of the week.  They have meetings from the beginning of the year up until April.

On Thursday, prior to Pink Out Week, the seniors put blank ribbons in the teacher’s mailbox to put messages on. These ribbons will be displayed at the Girls and Boys basketball games on Friday February 12th.  The Girls’ basketball game is staring at 6:30 and the Boys’ at 7:00.  Bracelets are also being sold at lunch all week for $2.

On the 9th, the seniors also made and handed out ribbons for teachers to wear throughout the rest of the week .  On February 11th, a guest speaker from the Gloria Gemma Foundation, Mareen DiPero came to spoke to the Seniors.

Shirts are also being sold at the Cougar Cage for the games on Friday.  Currently, more than sixty shirts have been sold.  Don’t forget to wear pink and show your support this Friday February 12th at school and at the basketball games!
