The first ever Will Eisner Week, hosted by the Nerd Herd and Modern Graphic Novel classes, was a huge success with students and teachers celebrating comics and graphic novels by dressing up as their favorite anime characters, horror villains, and superheroes.

In addition, students in Mr. Gianfrancesco’s Modern Graphic Novel classes as well as Nerd Herd members were treated to virtual guest speakers from the comics industry which included graphic novel creators Tracy White, Christine “Steenz” Stewart, and Collen AF Venable as well as reality show star and podcaster Ming Chen.

Most Spirited Winners were crowned for each day of the week and those students selected received $25 Amazon gift cards. The winners were:

Monday – Deven Jesus
Tuesday – Crystal Gilliard
Wednesday – Kaden Amaral
Thursday – Evan Mojica
Friday – Cody Hunter-Serio

Mr. Gianfrancesco says he hopes to keep the tradition alive as an annual tradition.
