I have anxiously waited for November 7th, this was the date I was going to Rhode Island Comic Con. If you’re unfamiliar with what Comic Con is it’s a convention where nerds descend upon to show their love for all things “geek” such as movies, TV shows, comic books, anime, and many other things. You can also meet celebrities there and attend panels. This was my second year attending Comic Con and my first time I was going to cosplay and I couldn’t be more excited. Cosplay is when you dress up to portray a character.

The morning of Comic Con I woke up super excited and honestly, it felt weird feeling this excited for something. I honestly couldn’t think about the last time I was this excited for something. Getting ready for Comic Con was very interesting this is because it my first time cosplaying and I really didn’t know what to expect. I was cosplaying as Luna from Sailor Moon, it seems like a really simply cosplay because Luna is a cat but I was wrong. It took me maybe and hour and a half trying to get ready that morning which was a lot more time than I thought it was going to take. I finally left to go and it was really awesome seeing people walking  down the streets in there cosplay as we got closer to the venue. We finally go to the place Comic Con was getting held to be only welcomed by a huge line, but I wasn’t that disappointed because I was happy I was there. I got really nervous before I got out of that car this was because there was a huge line of people right in front of me and because this was the first time I cosplayed.

When you cosplay, people will pay attention to you and that something I’m not really use to. But within in a couple of minutes of me walking to get in the line I got recognized by a person in line and they said they loved my cosplay. Hearing that was amazing because it was something I made and being able to hear someone say that they loved it was awesome. Also I was cosplaying as a character they liked.  Because this character is from an anime that doesn’t exist in real life, when you cosplay it’s sort like bringing the character to life. Waiting in line was kinda fun I was able to talk to different people see people in amazing cosplays also kinda got an idea of what I wanted to do that day.

Then after maybe forty five minutes I got in and it was amazing being able to be there. I  was surrounded by things I loved and being dressed up as talking cat from an anime wasn’t considered weird. And I was surrounded by people that seemed pretty awesome too. I also got to see celebrities that were such big parts of my childhood and seeing them in person was awesome. Walking the show floor wasn’t as enjoyable because of how crowded it was and it was really hard trying to get somewhere that you wanted to go which prevented you from going to panels on time. It was also very hard trying to go to other buildings that Comic Con was held at because of how long the line was to get in there. But it was better than having to wait outside for hours which happened to me last year.  In conclusion, Comic Con was a very awesome experience and I cant wait to go next year.
