On Saturday October 25, the annual Homecoming football game was played at North Providence High School. In addition to the game, the elected 2014 NPHS Homecoming Court was announced and crowned.
For Homecoming Court, each class elects a couple to represent them. The Freshmen were represented by Brandon Tanguay and Amara Gibau, the Sophomores chose Jordan Alecio and Tianna Teixiera, and the Junior class crowned Austin Conte and Nicole Lussier as their Homecoming sweethearts. The Seniors voted for two pairs; Austin Acciolli and Haley Bourne, as well as Tyler Rose and Sara Bouthilette. However, the pair chosen to rule over the others as Homecoming King and Queen were none other than Seniors John Gibau with Ivy Hadenburg, an NPHS football player and cheerleader respectively.
The ceremony, which was conducted during half time, concluded with flowers for the couples, pictures of the entire Homecoming Court, and the presentation of the Homecoming King’s and Queen’s crown by Principal Goho.
