On October 17th, the girls soccer team captured the Division title with a 1-0 against Middletown.
Coming into the game, the girl’s soccer team was undefeated coming into the game with a 13-0-2 record. Middletown came into the game as a contender for the division title also with an 10-1-2 record. Cougars had to grind out a 1-0 win against the Islanders and when they did they captured the first division championship in many years for the Lady Cougars. This title is due to hard work and focus on and off the field by the Lady Cougars. Players that really shined throughout the season include senior Danya Grimaldi who has 13 goals and 2 assists , senior Olivia Capraro who has 7 goals and 5 assists and senior goalkeeper Ashley VanBemmelen who has 82 saves on the season and has only let in 4 goals. The Lady Cougar hope to make a run for the State Championship in the playoffs and finish up the year undefeated.
The Lady Cougars’ last game of the season is at home on 10/24 against Tolman.
