Who’s Bonnie?

At the 2023 Grammy Awards, millions of teenagers yelled “Who’s Bonnie” at their devices. 73-year-old Bonnie Raitt is a folk and country singer who has won 13 Grammy Awards and has been nominated 30 times. She won three Grammy Awards this year, including the Song Of The Year, Best Americana Performance, and Best American Roots Song. She was also nominated for Best Americana Album but did not win. Millions were surprised to see Bonnie win song of the year at the Grammys, as most people had never heard her song or her as an artist. This is most likely because she performs a style of music that is no longer as popular as it used to be, and her popularity decreases as she grows older. Those in Gen Z, or even Millennials, would rather see someone more involved in pop culture, like Taylor Swift or Harry Styles, win such an award. However, Bonnie still deserves this award for all the hard work she has put into her career. Congratulations!
