What began as a club team in 2024 has grown into a program that continues to make history. In their very first season, the Lady Cougars dominated the field, finishing 5–0 and defeating Johnston High School to capture the 2024 championship. Their success helped put the program on the map and proved that girls’ flag football deserved recognition.
Although the team came up short in the 2025 playoffs against Central Falls, their determination and competitive spirit never went unnoticed. The Lady Cougars continued to showcase their talent and dedication, gaining attention across the state.
One of the most exciting moments in the program’s journey came when the Lady Cougars took the field during halftime of the New England Patriots game against the Buffalo Bills. Playing against Johnston High School, the team delivered a fast-paced, intense matchup that energized the crowd and highlighted the program’s skill and potential. The game served as a powerful statement: girls’ flag football is here to stay.
This season, the club is expanding, and each Saturday, they will play two 20-minute games.
