HOSA (an organization determined to help and allow students interested in the medical pathway to explore all healthcare has to offer) was started at NPHS by sophomores Sofia Velasquez and Yihan (Regina) Zhou in the Fall of 2025 with the invaluable help of advisors Haleigh Freeburg and Melissa Caffrey. This was NPHS’s first year having a HOSA chapter and going to the State Leadership Conference (SLC).
Shown in the picture above are Senior Ally Luna, Demarcus Jackson, and Junior Keandra Zigbuo, who won first in the Public Service Announcement competition; Sophomore Elizabeth Adebayo won second in Medical Spelling; Sophomore Regina Zhou won first in Researched Persuasive Writing and Speaking; and Sophomores Regina Zhou and Sofia Velasquez got voted into HOSA’s State Executive Council.
Congratulations to all participants of HOSA for showing up and showing effort! And special congratulations to all winners! We can’t wait to see what the future of HOSA at NPHS will look like!
