Sequels are notoriously known for either being really good or horribly bad, and in the case of Lil Uzi Vert’s newest album, the sequel is horribly bad. Today Lil Uzi Vert released his sequel to one of his most highly regarded albums, Eternal Atake, leading many to believe that the sequel would be much like its predecessor, yet they were wrong. The album started off fine and continued to be fine for the entire record—not a single high or low at all—an utterly boring album. This is a major disappointment to Uzi’s fans, as just last year he released an incredible album in Pink Tape, yet he hasn’t kept the same energy with his music at all. As much as I would love the album to be on the same level as the original, it just isn’t. The record was boring to listen to, and there were only a hand full of songs that stood out, yet they still weren’t comparable to any of Uzi’s old albums. The album feels like a bunch of scrapped songs from Eternal Atake, but without any of the spice that the original record had. Eternal Atake 2 will most likely go down as one of the biggest disappointments in 2024 hip-hop.
