On December 18th of, 2009, theaters were graced with a masterpiece, Avatar. This movie created a new world and culture in which you could immerse yourself from the comfort of your house. The CGI was revolutionary and still is good, even in 2022. The plot is incredibly creative while entertaining. The movie begins with Jake Sully, a crippled veteran hoping to do something good for his country and maybe a chance to keep fighting. He is enlisted into the Avatar program, which lets humans link their minds with a Na’vi. On Jake’s first mission as an Avatar, he is abandoned and under attack by a monster. A native, Neytiri, saves him and brings him into the Na’vi community. Slowly Jake becomes an honorary member of the Na’vi people. Eventually, they fall in love and tie the knot of their relationship under the tree of souls. When the humans invade the tree of souls, the place with the highest spiritual connection to the Na’vi the people turn against Jake. To prove his worth, Jake bonds with the Great Leonopteryx and returns to the Na’vi to help them fight. The humans eventually retreat and leave Jake behind. A ritual at the tree of souls is performed, causing Jake’s mind to transfer to his Na’vi body. Overall this movie is quite emotional and entertaining. Avatar is something everybody should watch at least once.
