The conclusion of the winter sports season is officially here, and there are many positive things to highlight from our cougar sports teams.

Boys Basketball: The cougar boys basketball team finished off the season with a 7-13 record with a short run in the playoffs. They look to bounce back next season with the strong young talent returning.

Girls Basketball: The co-op girls basketball team with Johnston high school finished the season with a 4-14 record. They also look to progress next year as a division 2 team.

Boys Swim: The boys swim team finished off the regular season with a 4-1 swim meet record. They had a 7th place finish at the state championships and had several school records broken during the season.

Girls Swim: The girls swim team finished the regular season with a 6-4 swim meet recored. They had a great showing at the state championships with many medals earned and many records broken as well.

Wrestling: The wrestling team finished the regular season with a dual meet record of 6-7 and had an 8th place finish at the state championships. They also had 5 wrestlers make the podium and earn a medal.

Competition Cheerleading: Congratulations to the NPHS Cougar Cheer Team who were crowned the Division 2 State Champions. After their flawless routine the judges voted them as the Division 2 State Champs and 3rd overall in the State Championship competition. They will be competing this weekend at the New England Championships.

 

The Spring Sports season is set to start next week as teams begin tryouts and we look for another successful season by cougar sports!
