Teen Takeover! A New Program at the NP Library

Naeelah Desanges, Entertainment Editor

There is an age-old stigma surrounding libraries: They are boring, obnoxiously quiet, and only suitable for intense studying. While libraries can be a great study spot, they are far from boring. The dedicated staff in the Children’s Department of the North Providence Union Free Library work tirelessly to ensure it. While there are many popular programs for younger children, there are events for teens as well. Most recently, the library has a new program called Teen Takeover!

Organized by one of the Children’s Librarians, Miss Hailey-Rose, this program takes place on Mondays at 2:30 pm through November 22nd in the library. Teen Takeover is specifically for 9-12 graders, so after a long day of high school, make the short walk over to the library and learn how to make new things under the instruction of Miss Hailey-Rose. This program is a great way to meet other students and gain new skills, so bring a friend and see what the North Providence Library has to offer!
