On Saturday, February 8th, North Providence High hosted a state wide Drama Conference called ThesCon. This is the second year in a row that NPH has hosted the conference. ThesCon is a yearly ‘thespian convention’ that consists of performances by high-school actors from numerous theater troupes in Rhode Island and has various theater related workshops including tech and production to auditions and musical theater.

People who participate in the conference put together a piece which is either a song from an official musical, or two contrasting monologue pieces and present them to a panel of judges who give feedback and rate the actor. Hope Bourne (Senior) and Cassie Travis (Junior) of North Providence High performed musical pieces and earned the highest ranking of superior. Director of NPH Drama troupe 81010, Mrs. Melissa Thomas, was proud of the hard work that everyone who participated in the conference put in.

The two performers who earned superior ranking at NPH were given the opportunity to travel to International ThesCon in Indiana this upcoming June to perform their pieces for internationally recognized judges.
