This past Wednesday January 9, 2019, can be deemed yet another successful concert for the NPHS Music Department. This Winter concert reflected the hard work of NPHS’ finest and most talented students. Mrs. Kelly and Acapella kicked the concert off by singing a crowd favorite, Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon. Performances by Choir and Chorus left the audience in awe from start to finish. Songs like Elijah Rock, and Imagine by John Lennon were performed by both Choir and Chorus with soloists such as Sonia Lariviere, Morgan Van Thuyne, and Hope Bourne. Highly anticipated by the audience, the Jazz Band and Concert Band directed by Mr. Stephen Morrison rocked the house with songs like Hooked on a Feeling and the Game of Thrones theme. Jazz Band also made a special tribute to the late Aretha Franklin, by performing her famous song, Respect. Concert Band ended the concert with an encore song, none other than Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond. The concert came to a closing with the audience singing and dancing along to Sweet Caroline ‘s famous chorus.
