Richard Reviews: Bohemian Rhapsody

Bohemian Rhapsody is a music bio centered around the band, Queen, from 1970-1985.  It stars Rami Malek, Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, and Joseph Mazzello among others.  It is 2 hours and 14 minutes and rated PG-13.  This film was interesting.  The actors look a lot like their real life counter parts, specifically, Rami Malek, as Freddie Mercury, doing a great job in the roles.  The production and costume design was also great and really puts you into the time period.  The music was amazing as well, I mean, it’s what you would expect from Queen.  My flaws for this film is that I noticed a lot of inaccuracies involving several aspects of the band and Freddie Mercury’s life.  This stems from music being played in a certain year, when it actually was not released in that year, songs not being recorded the way they were originally recorded, and Freddie Mercury’s AIDs diagnosis. Plus, I have mixed feelings on how they portrayed Mercury as a person.  Overall, Bohemian Rhapsody was an interesting film with great acting having some inaccuracies.  I will give the film two and a half Popcorn buckets.
