College Applications: The Wait

Victoria Winter, Editor-In-Chief

For many college-bound seniors the first round of applications were due either October 15th, November 1st, or will be due November 15th. After weeks of supplements, collecting recommendation letters, submitting transcripts, and writing personal essays the long approaching deadlines came and went.

Now, the waiting game begins. Most schools won’t send out decisions until December. That leaves a month of an agonizing wait spent wondering where you will spend the next four years of your life. This month may be the longest month of your life, but it doesn’t have to. Here is a list of everything you can do to pass the time:

  • cry away the anxiety and stress
  • eat ice cream, your feelings have never tasted any better
  • study for SATs again because you have a pretty good idea of what your early admissions results will be
  • binge watch netflix because it is the only reliable thing in your life
  • finish senior project because… THAT’S STILL DUE
  • watch videos of cute animals
  • write a novel about your life experience and hope it becomes a bestseller
  • join the Cougar Courier! #alwaysplug
  • play a sport/ get some exercise
  • listen to music every single day of you life
  • “throw yourself into all the work you forgot about while you were applying to college” -Kaylee Perry
  • research back-up schools

Good luck to all the seniors as they await college results!
