On October 17th in the year 2017, four North Providence High School students visited Worcester Polytechnic Institute for a competition in mathematics.  These four students were Jacob Jorgensen, Victoria Winter, Stephen Grivers, Richard Africo, and Mrs. Branco as the team adviser. The highest scorer for North Providence High School team was Jacob Jorgensen, and he won $1,000 in a scholarship to WPI as a result.
