Cougar Swim Season Begins Again! 2016-2017

Victoria Winter, Managing Editor

On November 30th the North Providence Cougar swim team held its first combined practice of the school year.

After losing 17 seniors, the team has one of its smallest teams in recent years with only around 30 members. Despite the smaller size, coaches Crystal Bozigian and Steve Muccino see it as an opportunity for more personalized practices, with less crowded lanes and greater time for one-on-one coaching.

The captains for this year are Jimmy Dionne, Brendan O’ Connell, Taylor Albanese, and Lauren Pringle.

The first meet of the season will be an Injury Fund Carnival on Monday, December 12th at the North Providence Pool and Fitness Center beginning at 3:30pm. The team will face East Providence High School and Wheeler High School in a series of relay events for a fun start to the swim season.
