Somewhere, Nowhere Opening Night 2015

The North Providence High School Drama Club’s opening night of Somewhere, Nowhere went off without a hitch.

On Thursday, December 3rd, the Drama Club put on its opening night production of the play Somewhere, Nowhere by Lindsay Price at 7:00 pm. Tickets were ten dollars while students with their IDs only needed to pay five dollars. The play will also be performed on Friday the 4th and Saturday the 5th at the same time, for the same price.

Somewhere, Nowhere written by Lindsay Price is a play of 4 scenes set during each season. High school seniors living in the small town of Brayton deal with problems such as being accepted, relationships, and college. Overall, the play is very relatable for all high school students and is a tale of growing up and dealing with decisions that at some point, we all need to make.

The Drama Club did a wonderful rendition of this play with interesting characters, costumes, and storylines. The audience laughed from sophomore Ian Jacob’s many hilarious lines as he played Jim and in the final scene, senior Brian O’Gara, who plays the character Pete, was dressed in an egg carton suit with shaving cream as part of a plan to fall onto mats and cardboard boxes. Chuckles could be heard from the crowd during the play’s many comedic parts and the characters’ funny antics. With only around two months for preparation the cast and crew pulled off an extraordinary show.

Once again, be sure to catch Somewhere, Nowhere on either Friday, the 4th, or Saturday, the 5th, at the high school. Tickets are sold at the doors of the auditorium: ten dollars for a regular ticket, five dollars for students with their IDs. You won’t want to miss it!

Congratulations to the Drama Club on a great show!
