The 2015-16 school year calendar has experienced some changes when compared to the previous years.

The Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving is now cancelled whereas before, students would have to attend school that day. The counterpart to this change is that three of the days previously allotted for February Vacation have been re-assigned as days where school is required.

Some raise questions about this swapping of days.  I interviewed Mr. Moniz and he had an interesting standpoint.  He said that “It’s nice to have the day off before Thanksgiving to prepare for the holiday. However, not having February vacation is tricky because some teachers have kids with February Vacation off and have childcare issues during February Vacation.”
