On Tuesday September 29th, 2015 the members of the Salvatore Mancini Center celebrated their 39th year of helping the elderly by hosting their 8th annual Italian Pasta Dinner.

The decor of the building featured plants growing all over the walls, lovely patterns going in all different directions, and every room carpeted to perfectly match different lifestyles.

After all the senior citizens were seated at their tables, the North Providence High School volunteers and staff passed out drinks, bread, and salad. After the appetizers were served, performers began performing many Italian songs like “That’s Amore” originally sung by Dean Martin. The performers played the piano, the trumpet, a small drum, while also singing.

Later came the pasta and desserts. After everyone was served, the staff also served all the volunteers a dish as well. During the meal, the performers invited people to dance along to the music, ranging from the the Chicken Dance to slow songs. The night was full with joy and next year is expected to be even better.
