The Maze Runner

Jacob Jorgensen, Reporter

Due to its interesting concept, “The Maze Runner” scores a 4 out of 5.

A group of teenage boys are trapped in the center of a maze with only their own abilities to survive and with all memories of before the maze gone. Only a few are allowed to enter the maze known as maze runners.  The maze changes and evolves every day to make escape nearly impossible.  This all changes when the main character, Thomas, kills one of the monsters inhabiting the maze while trying to rescue a friend. Everyone blames Thomas for the new aggression from the monsters on the people. The ending is enjoyable because it left on a cliffhanger while still having a satisfying conclusion. There is dialogue that helps the story progress. It is not used just as time filler. The casting choices were good and the soundtrack is appropriate to the movie.  If you are a fan of action or horror movies, The Maze Runner is something worth checking out. The plot unfolds at an interesting pace leaving minimal plot holes which can only be seen by paying close attention to the movie.  It is a truly unique story which keeps you on the edge of your seat.  It is currently playing in most theaters so go out and watch The Maze Runner!
