Girl’s Lacrosse starts 2016 season

The Lady Cougars have hit the field for the 2016 season. Coach Rainone and her team look to contend and make an appearance in the Division III playoffs once again and hopefully contend for a title. This year they will captained by seniors Alex Geisser, Bella Moniz, and one of the top team goalscorers the last 4 years for the Cougars, Nicole Lussier.

North Providence has opened the season with a 1-4 record. The Lady Cougars opened up the season with a very close and bitter lose to Rogers, 13-10. Other than the 16-2 blowout handed to them by Westerly, each loss had seemed to be a close one that could’ve gone either way. Rogers 13-10, loss to Chariho 9-8, and most recently, losing to a last second game winner to Classical, 10-9. The only win they have captured so far was a 7-4 victory against Burriville. The Lady Cougars hope to turn around the season and give that extra push to improve their record.

Their next game will be at home on Friday April 29 against 3-2 East Providence.
