Simply put: YES! The Life of a Showgirl is a great album.
The album broke many records, both before and after its release. Even before The Life of a Showgirl was released, it broke the record for the most pre-saves on Spotify, surpassing six million saves (the previous record was held by The Tortured Poets Department.) After the release, TLOAS broke the records for both single day streams of a whole album on Spotify (in just 11 hours!) and the most streamed song in a single day – the lead single, “The Fate of Ophelia.” 1.2 million copies of the vinyl were sold in a single week, which is a U.S. record.
Swift has put out a total of 32 album variants: one cassette, five different downloadable variants, eight vinyls, and eighteen CDs.
At the time of writing, all twelve songs from The Life of a Showgirl are occupying the top twelve spots of the Billboard Top 100, making it her third album to occupy all top ten spots – and she’s the only artist to have done it even once.
So if you haven’t listened to it yet, go listen to The Life of a Showgirl!
