I moved to North Providence in sixth grade, and it’s hard to believe that seven years here have gone by just like that. As we prepare to graduate, it is worth reflecting on how far we’ve all come before we step into the next important phases of our lives.
We’ve been through a lot together. We were the first class to begin high school with some sense of normalcy returning and through it all, we still found a way to make high school ours. We built clubs, won championships, aced APs, performed in shows, and most importantly, grew into the people we are today.
To all the teachers and administrators: thank you for believing in us and being patient through every late assignment, every question, and every off day. I especially want to thank Ms. Alexandre. Whether I was stuck on a difficult math problem or needed help with a computer science concept, she was always there, during Math Team meetings, after class, and whenever I needed support.
Mr. Olivo, thank you for changing the way I saw history. Although it’s always been a subject I struggled with, he broke topics down in a way that made sense and always made space for questions. I never felt like I was falling behind; I felt like I was catching up to something worth understanding.
To Mr. Paone, Ms. Reilley, and the entire counseling department: thank you for guiding me through high school from start to finish, from course selections to college applications.
Class of 2025, we’ve already overcome so much together as a class and separately as individuals. But, the best parts of our journey are still ahead of us, and just like we’ve persevered through past challenges, we’ll keep pushing forward, no matter what is thrown at us next.
