During school today, May 15th, 2025, classes were called down to the NPHS gym to attend a ‘Doggie Prom’. The people at Paws from The Heart, a pet therapy organization, had the idea to host this adorable event alongside with Ms. Dilorenzo. Students and teachers at NPHS were able to walk around the gymnasium to meet these lovely doggies, and boy were they cute!
Meet the Doggies!
Bambino
Some of you may already know Bambino as the therapy dog that comes into NPHS every thursday. He’s a 6 year old American Bulldog and he’s been a therapy dog for 3 years!
Daisy Mae
Daisy is a 3 year old Bernedoodle. A Bernedoodle is a mix between a Bernese Mountain Dog with a Poodle. Daisy Mae works with Paws from The Heart and also does scent work!
Lizzie
Lizzie is a 5 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She works with Paws from The Heart and she was working that runway!
Pippa
Pippa is a 3 year old French Bulldog. She’s been doing pet therapy with Paws from The Heart for 2 years. She mainly volunteers at the T.F. Green International Airport and colleges!
Monty
Monty is 6 year old therapy dog. He’s a Pitbull Husky mix!
Ranger
Ranger is a Labrador Pitbull mix, He’s 2 and a half years old and volunteers at multiple schools as a therapy dog!
Milo
Milo is a 7 year old mini golden doodle. He’s been a therapy dog for 3 years and mainly visits Centredale Elementary School!
Duke
Duke is a 5 month old Shih Tzu. Duke actually isn’t apart of Paws for The Heart. Mario Hilario, a reporter on Channel 10, brought his adorable puppy to this years doggie prom. He explained that Duke came on Channel 10 for an Adopt-a-Pet segment, but actually fell in love with him and adopted Duke himself!
Paws from The Heart
Paws from The Heart is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing specialty trained dogs into local communities in New England to promote health, happiness and healing.
