North Providence High School has become a hub for creativity, many students have turned their passion and talent into a beneficial journey, expressing themselves through small businesses that showcase their skills and contributions.
Kayla Farrell, a current junior at NPHS started her beauty business in February of 2023, thanks to her moms motivation Kayla took her certification classes and built her business off a lot of hard work and dedication. Kayla’s business mainly focuses on eyelash extensions as she instantly fell in love with the practice. However she isn’t the only student in the beauty business, Kailee Reyes a Senior started her lash business around the same time a year and a half ago doing her course over the summer of 2023, Kailee started off practicing on her friends and officially starting her business with low prices slowly raising them as she build her business. Kailee balances school all while keeping track of scheduling her clients and managing her social media. Originally she was looking for a way to make money since she wasn’t allowed to have a job, she took things into her own hands and took charge, she loved the confidence her clients gained after getting their lashes done as she felt like she had a true impact.
Beauty isn’t all North Providence has to offer! Paris a Senior took up a different path deciding to go into sweet treats. Paris started off in February of 2024 in a conjoined business with a friend, she now is the solo CEO of pastries by Paris focusing mainly on cakes but also includes other sweets such as brownies, fried Oreos, and more. Her love of baking is what originally got her started as well as being influenced by young entrepreneurs on social media, after her short break people kept asking if her and her friend were going to continue which encouraged her to to get back to baking. Paris has now dominated the food business in North Providence High School!
