With the new addition of the turf infield in 2022, the dugouts haven’t experienced the same refresh as the field did. Senior Mia Diffenbach has incorporated the importance of baseball in her family into a project that will benefit athletes for years to come.
Her project idea is to refresh the dugouts by repainting them and supply the baseball team with new equipment. A good environment and updated equipment is crucial in sports and make players feel more confident.
“I chose to do this because my younger brother, Alex Diffenbach, has been playing on the field for years and I’ve noticed how it’s deteriorating more and more,” she says. Her ultimate goal is to create a better environment for kids to want to come to North Providence to play their favorite sport. This is a way to give back and support all of the players who want to continue a path in baseball.
The painting will be taking place over April break. The weather has made it difficult to begin painting the dugouts and to get the equipment on the field.
On top of this, Mia will be holding a raffle at the first home game on March 29th, 2025 at 10:30. There are many prizes to win, and more opportunities to raise money for a great cause! Show your support for her senior project!
