Recently, North Providence High School has been awarded High School of the Year by the RIAAA. This is the first time that the school has earned this award, and rightfully so. From the newly developed turf field to the new pre-game basketball team introductions in the ROC, the school has never been better.
On top of these new developments, the Cougar athletic teams have been showing up. In the last two years, the boy’s basketball team were back-to-back Division III champions and have been dominating Division II this season. In 2023, the football team won the Division IV championship. The cheerleaders have seenĀ many Division II titles. Finally, the newly added girls flag football team won a title in their first season. The introduction of the indoor track team has also given students new opportunities for success.
Athletic Director Fic has used his visions to truly enhance sports at North Providence High School. We thank him for his hard work to make this school better. In the last few years, Cougar Athletics has seen a new logo, an athletics page to keep up with teams, and branding across the school that makes the school feel unique. He thanks Superintendent Goho, the North Providence administration, coaches, parents, and student athletes for this impressive award.
While 2024 was a great year for our school, we are looking forward to what’s in store in years to come!
