As the year is ending, we reminisce about the years of hard work, dedication, and growth. And standing on the threshold of a new chapter, I hope we can all take a moment to celebrate our achievements and reflect on our journey.
Beginning this adventure during a pandemic was not easy, in fact, I absolutely hated waking up at 7:00 A.M. to be greeted by a log-in screen on my computer. (I think we can all collectively agree that it felt like a fever dream.) And despite this rough start, we persevered and discovered other ways to come together.
We were driven by curiosity and determination, facing challenges and seizing opportunities along the way. We have learned not only from our successes but also from our setbacks, which have made us stronger and more resilient.
To our teachers and mentors, thank you for guiding us, inspiring and believing in us. Your wisdom and support have been invaluable. To our families and friends, your unwavering encouragement has been our foundation. We are grateful for your love and patience. A further thank you to my mother, Samantha, and my father, Sackona, who have given me the most unwavering support, time, and discipline molding me into the woman that I am today. My achievements are nothing without them.
To my fellow graduates, think not of who you want to be remembered as, but live by who you want to be. When you look back at the past four years, thank yourself for every mistake, setback, and applaud yourself for overcoming it. As we step into the future, remember to stay curious, be courageous, and always strive for excellence. Embrace change, cherish connections, and make a positive impact wherever you go.
Congratulations, Class of 2024, it’s been real!
