As my time at North Providence High School comes to a close, I feel a sense of relief and accomplishment as I usually do at this time of year, but this year, it is accompanied by a sense of uncertainty. For the first time in our lives, the Class of 2024 will not be returning here this fall. Instead, we will be displaced to a variety of life paths to destinations as close as Providence and as far as Bolivia.
Some of us will enter the workforce, others trade school, some into the military, and others will attend college. This summer will be distinctly different, as the reality of life as an adult sets in and we set out to finally realize our childhood aspirations. I hope to see this theme continued in the classes that succeed us, and I hope that the diversity of our aspirations will be taken up by those who follow us.
As for the class of 2025 and beyond, I urge you to continue to be active members of the school and town community, participate in activities and clubs, and commit yourself to whatever your image of success may be. Continue to expand your horizons and the possibilities for what your future holds will be limitless.
The legacy of North Providence High School is reflected in the successes and stories of its alumni, and I am proud to be a member of this incredibly talented group.
