Next week, starting Monday, March 4th, Nerd Herd will be hosting a Comic Book Spirit Week in honor of Will Eisner, “the grandfather” of all comics and graphic novels. To show your support, we ask students to dress up in the following;
Monday, March 4: Manga Monday – Dress as or represent your favorite
Manga or Anime character, book, or show!
Tuesday, March 5: Terror Tuesday – Dress as or represent your
favorite Horror film, series, or character!
Wednesday, March 6: Video Game and Role Play Day – Dress as or
represent your favorite video or role play game or character!
Thursday, March 7: Superhero vs. Supervillain – Dress as or represent
your favorite comic book or movie superhero/villain. Group or duo
costumes encouraged!
Friday, March 8: Future or Fantasy Friday – Dress as or represent your
favorite futuristic or fantasy character!
Prizes will be given to the students most spirited each day! No face paint or masks are allowed due to the safety of NPHS staff and students. Thank you to our Nerd Herd!
Who was Will Eisner?
Will Eisner is an American writer, cartoonist, and entrepreneur who was one of the earliest cartoonists to work in the American comic book industry. He was born March 6th, 1917, and died January 3rd, 2005. He is credited with popularizing the term “graphic novel” and was one of the main people who influenced it as a literary genre.
