Have you heard about the famous Michael Myers? Michael Myers is a fictional, serial killer character, who is viewed as immortal. By starring in multiple hit movies, he has racked up many fans. If you consider yourself a fan, you’d be excited to hear about his new movie, “Halloween Kills”. The movie Halloween Kills was released on October 15, 2021, making it one of the first big budget horror movies to hit the theaters since the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Halloween Kills is the second installment of a sequel trilogy to the infamous 1978 slasher film, “Halloween”. In “Halloween Kills”, Michael Myers is back at it again in the town of Haddonfield, Illinois. After escaping a mental facility in the previous movie, he sets out to return to his childhood home, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake.
John Carpenter provides the audience with a grooling, fast-paced experience, along with a taste of nostalgia for those who grew up with the original films. The movie features plenty of recurring characters and cast members, Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, and many more. Although some returning characters do not get as much recognition as some fans may have liked, it was still quite the treat to see them once again.
This movie manages to dig even deeper into the story of Michael Myers, and who he truly is behind the mask. The commentary from characters turn him into a physical manifestation of pure evil, a force that can not be stopped, a monster who can not be killed. The film has its imperfections, but nonetheless, it is a convivial watch for anyone who enjoys the Halloween Franchise. With new chills, heartracing thrills, and horrifying kills, it’s a terrifying ride for everyone, old fans and new.
