Former democratic Vice President Joe Biden has won the race to 270 electoral votes over republican President Donald Trump by 73 votes. Biden leads with 290 votes, over Trump who holds 217 votes. Both North Carolina and Georgia have still not been called, although Joe Biden has been pronounced the 46th president elect of the United States.
Vice President Biden has won Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada, which which were previously battleground states. Nevada was among the last of the battleground states and to be counted for Biden.
Current President, Donald Trump, has filed lawsuits against the states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and others ordering them to stop counting votes because of “lack of transparency.”
According to the Secretary of State of Georgia, Brad Raffensperger, the state will do a “hand recount” of ballots. Biden currently has a lead of 14,089 votes.
