Frozen 2
Movie Review
When the first Frozen movie came out, I was twelve years old and I loved it. The music was so catchy and I had memorized every word to every song. It was my absolute favorite movie from the first time I saw it. It is one of those movies that whenever it is on, I have to sit and watch it. It is just a Disney classic that you can’t get sick of. When I heard that Frozen 2 was being made, I was beyond excited.
Six years later and my eighteen year old self is feeling let down. I was expecting the same type of happy and fun storyline with good songs. But unfortunately, I feel like I may have held the standards too high for this movie. The director had the characters in the movie all age six years as well, so obviously I couldn’t expect the same playful theme. There was a lot going on in this movie and I feel as though it could be confusing for a younger child to understand, and maybe even scary at times. It was much more darker and mature than the first one. I feel as though the plot was a lot more detailed and gave us more insight on to what had happened in the past and I was able to try to make sense of events from the first one. Go see the movie yourself and let us know what you thought of it.
Frozen 2 supports my theory that the first movies are always better than the sequels.
