Richard Reviews: The Fate of the Furious
April 24, 2017
The Fate of the Furious is the eighth installment in the Fast and the Furious franchise. It stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Kurt Russell, Charlize Theron. It is 136 minutes and is rated PG-13. The character Dominic Toretto is coerced to work for cyber terrorist Cipher. That means Dom betrays his team. It is up to the team to take down Cipher and locate Dom. The best things I can say about this film is that it has good acting from the cast and fun action that is the standard of a Fast and Furious film. However, that is not enough to save this film from being boring. I was not invested in the characters because they were stagnant, and one dimensional. Plus, there are a lot of reality bending moments, and I’m not talking about the over the top action scenes. I like those scenes and how ludicrous and fun they are, but just because a film has great action it does not mean that the film is good. For an action film, The Fate of the Furious is an uninteresting movie that left no impact. I give The Fate of the Furious one popcorn bucket out of four.
