Richard Reviews: Doctor Strange
November 6, 2016
Doctor Strange is the newest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Eijofor, Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelsen. It is rated PG-13 and runs 1:55 minutes. In the movie, Stephen Strange is a very successful surgeon who’s career is cut short after an accident ruins his hands. In order to repair his hands, Stephen travels away from home and learns strange mystical powers. We can all expect that this movie is going to be good just like the rest of them. I had a lot of fun with this movie. What I liked about this movie was the acting which was excellent. Benedict Cumberbatch makes great as Doctor Strange and even has a convincing american accent. I also liked the films setting, mostly because the movies takes place in different countries. The action was also great with very little shaky cam and quick cuts. However, my favorite aspect of this film is the use of CGI and the worlds that the CGI creates. The world bending and the cosmos scenes look fantastic. My only flaw with this film was the villain. I didn’t understand his purpose aside of just being the “bad guy.” Overall, Doctor Strange is another great installment for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and fans will like it a lot. I give Doctor Strange three popcorn buckets.
