A Life Without Social Media

Jacob Jorgensen, Editor

I know this may be considered odd or peculiar, but I neither have, nor never want any form of social media.  For most people their twitter or Facebook seem to be the focal point of their life. Most people ask me if I ever suffered socially, because of my lack of social media.  There was no scenario that I can think of within my life that I wished I had social media.  One view of social media has persisted me for years, which is that it is a breeding ground for hate.  With social media came the existence of cyber-bullying.  A lack of living in the moment also started to occur with the start of sites like twitter.  People just seem to reach for their phones when something interesting happens instead of enjoying the moment for what it is worth.  Overall, I am glad for my lack of experience with social media and my ability to appreciate individual moments within my life.
