Single Valentine’s Day

Jacob Jorgensen, Editor

Have you ever felt incomplete and absolutely alone? That is the feeling that I get every year on February the 14th.  I will admit that it is not just only that day, but Valentine’s day is when that feeling is the strongest.  On that day TV stations bombard viewers with movies where every single person is one half of a happy couple.  Everything is marketed towards people in pairs. The only people that the holiday is actually good for are the candy and greeting card companies.  Valentine’s day is actually the anniversary of the execution of Saint Valentine who was killed for illegally marrying Roman citizens which distracted them from being warriors. So, Valentine’s Day did not do any good for Saint Valentine.  Everyone expects that everybody has somebody that they can call their Valentine, but there is a select group of people, in which I am included, that have absolutely nobody, nor has ever had anybody.
