Pink Out Week 2017

Aisha Siddiqui, Features Editor

This year’s Pink Out week started on January 9th to the 13th. The week was run by Mrs. Thompson, Ms. Marsland and ten seniors who are with the Gloria Gemma Research Foundation. During the week, facts were posted around the building to spread awareness on breast cancer. In addition, a breast cancer survivor came to speak to the Senior skills classes.

The turn out to the Girl’s Basketball game greatly improved due to the raffle that ran this year. Bracelets were also sold at lunches to be used as admission to both the girls’ and boys’ games. The Dance Team and Cheerleaders were also present at the game and performed at half time. Ms. Marsland stated that she “was incredibly happy with the way the entire Pink Out Week turned out this year.” The week ended with the boys’ basketball game.

Thanks to the seniors and Mrs. Thompson and Ms. Marsland for organizing a great week for an important cause!
