NPHS Drama is presenting Somewhere, Nowhere!

Get ready for a play that will surely hit one close to home. The NPHS Drama Club is approaching their first show of the 2015-2016 school year. They will be bringing the act “Somewhere, Nowhere” to North Providence High School, a full length play with intriguing characters set in a modern high school. The play revolves around the characters’ dilemma: Do they leave and seek for a fresh new start? Or do they stay because it is closer to home? Possibly both? Nevertheless, in this play you will be able to see the students develop, change, and struggle over the course of a year. The play will take place at the high school on December 3rd, 4th and 5th at 7:00, with $10 for admission.

The co-directors of the NPHS Drama are Melissa Thomas and Lisa Pasonelli, both English teachers here at the High School (with Mrs. Thomas currently serving at the head of the English Department). Ms. Pasonelli described the play by saying, “story of people living in a small town, simultaneously hating it and loving it.” Ms. Thomas agreed saying that she couldn’t word it better. Both directors confirmed that this act will be a sequence of 4 smaller scenes, meaning that it will take place in 4 different seasons, ultimately forming one big play.

When Ms. Pasonelli was asked about what people should look forward to, at first, she simply replied “Brian O’Gara covered in egg cartons” yet she added in a more serious tone that “It’s a story that the students should relate, knowing that we live in a small town as well.” The NPHS Drama hopes to see you there!
