How often do we actually look forward to sliding out of bed and dragging ourselves to school? Maybe when we’re facing a field trip, or the last day of school? Even then, it’s always seemed like a nuisance to practically everyone. At this point in time it seems like the best option is to have the floor swallow us up in the middle of Geometry. However, there are some ways to make it through each day without staring at the clock, waiting for the hours to pass by. For instance, sort out your values. What are you getting from school? Why is this stuff so important to the outcome of my life? Well, whether you’re going to use your portfolio of schoolwork in life or not, it is a necessary fragment of our expectations throughout school. That means that if we plan on graduating, we need to use our school’s resources to get there while we have the chance. Still, the thought of one-hundred-eighty days per year lingers in the back of my mind, nagging me. However, those days piece together the outcome of my future. We all have to get through it… literally, it’s the law… so we can at least try to make the best of it. Of course, last but not least, we need to feel a little rewarded. It might sound cheesy, but we’re actually lucky to have schools available to us. We have so many resources to use so that we can be prepared for the outside world.
So there you have it. While school might seem boring, dragged out, and even unnecessary, just try to remember why you’re here. If you can organize your thoughts on school, plan out why you need it, and try as hard as you can to understand its benefits, then you might actually start to appreciate school. Look at things from a new perspective and make the best of it- this is our last chance to decide where we’re going to take our lives in the future.
