In their last home game of the season, the undefeated Cougar Boys honored their departing seniors with a win against Division II foe Narragansett. Coming into the game, the Cougars were at the top of Division II standings with a perfect league record of 14-0. The Mariners of Narragansett though were not to far behind with a record of 13-2. This game was crucial for the Cougars for their seed in the Division II State Championship and also for their perfect record. Before the game though, the Cougars honored seniors Nicholas Marahand, Justin Marchand, Kevin Clynes, Brendan Walker, Andrew Vallante, and captains Christopher Corin and Nickolas Geremia.
As the game started, the Cougars knew this was not going to be an easy win, but a hard fought one. Back and forth it went throughout the game as both teams scrapped for victory. But at the end of the game the Cougars edged out the Mariners 50-46. Nick Geremia had himself a double with 15 points and 15 rebounds and Chris Corin also had 15 rebounds, 9 points, and 4 steals.
The Cougars now look ahead to finish out the season undefeated against Division II opponents Mt. Hope and Lincoln and then will focus on the Division II State Tournament.
