Lady Cougar Tennis Season Wrap-Up and Senior Night 2016

On Thursday, October 20th the Lady Cougar Tennis team played their final match of the regular season against Scituate winning the night with a 6-1 score. This put them in second place for Division III Central B. They had a season record of 14-2 after dropping down from Division II this year as part of the regular change ups Division line-ups every two years. The two losses were to Classical High School, both games ending with a close 4-3 score.

The team’s senior night took place on Tuesday, October 18th against Tolman High School. Honored seniors were Co-Captains Michaela Fornaro and Hannah Tiner, Taylor Albanese, Second doubles partners Lauren Pringle and Alexis Truppi, Vianelly Garcia, Dyana DaCosta, and Gaytrix Solo.

The team etched out a close 4-3 win that night after the first doubles team of Taylor Albanese and Gianna Montella narrowly defeated Tolman’s 1st doubles in a third set with a score of 7-5.

By the end of the season, the first and third doubles teams finished undefeated. The two teams also made it to the state tournament for Division III doubles. The third doubles team consisted of newcomer Mary-Catherine Fornaro and Anne Marie Vacca.
