On Wednesday, September 21st the Mr. Cougar pageant event was held in the auditorium at 6:00 pm. The night was filled with great performances from our senior contestants: Dave Symmes, Mike Osondou, Brandon Stone and Andrew Costa. The event was successfully organized by the members of the National Honor Society.

It started with an introduction of the contestants alongside their escorts, followed by a talent section. There was a short intermission before the winners were announced. During that time, the host of the night, Mr. Isabella lifted the crowd’s mood right before he announced the winners of the raffle. Those two winners who were picked had a choice to pie either Mr. Cicerone or Mr. Ramos in the face. The crowd laughed and smiled in amusement after seeing those teachers’ faces covered in whipped cream.

The event ended with the judges’ decision. The 3rd runner-up was Dave Symmes, followed by Mike Osondou as 2nd runner-up.  The two other contestants were called upon the stage. The winner of Mr. Cougar 2016 was Brandon Stone, leaving Andrew Costa in 2nd place. Nevertheless, it was a great night full of laughter, talent, and school spirit.

Due to such a successful night, the members of the National Honor Society have already been discussing a Lip Sync Battle event which might be announced soon, but for now, the crowd only got to see a small preview with a Lip Sync Battle performance by Mr. Isabella and a student, that got the audience applauding. The members of the National Honor Society appreciate all of the support and donations that came from the staff and students of NPHS. They also hope to bring more special events to the school soon!
