X-Men Apocalypse is the newest film in the X-Men franchise.  The film stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Oscar Isaac, Jennifer Lawrence, and many more.  It’s rated PG 13 and is 144 minutes long. In the film the evil Apocalypse and other mutants are trying to destroy the Earth and it’s up to the X-Men to stop them.
The story was very interesting because we get to see some new mutants from other X-men media.  Most of the acting was good, especially McAvoy and Fassbender who pretty much captured the essence of their roles.   The action was well choreographed, not too much shaky cam or angle cuts.  Plus, the climax was just epic.  Flaws I found  with the movie is that they never really explain to us why Apocalypse is trying to end the world.
I didn’t like Sophie Turner’s portrayal of Jean Grey because she came off as very bland.  The film also can get goofy.  One instance is a scene involving Quicksilver and the song “Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This” by The Eurythmics.  Overall,  I had a good time with X-Men Apocalypse even if it had some flaws.  I’m going to give the film a medium popcorn bucket.
