What does self-acceptance mean to you?  Right off the bat, you could say it simply means to accept one’s self.  We all know what self-acceptance is, but do all of us actually put this word into action?  It seems that accepting yourself is something that is easier said than done.  In order to have self-acceptance you must learn to embrace your flaws, be confident, and be who you are.  Learning to love yourself, flaws and all, may not be the easiest thing to do and it may not happen overnight.  

My name is Valerie, a junior at NPHS, and my purpose is to help fellow students achieve full self-acceptance and confidence.  Learning how to love yourself is a process that only YOU can achieve for yourself but it’s much easier to be exposed to some positive reinforcement along the way.  In this weekly column, I will share with you positive affirmations, steps to accepting who you are, personal experiences to relate to and learn from, and more.  Have fun, be happy, and be who you are!
